Junior
Lifeguard/Instructor Program
for Splash Island and Southport
Goals:
-
To
gradually introduce and familiarize potential
lifeguards/instructors to the Splash Island lifeguard/instructor
position.
-
To
implement a program that will attract possible future Splash
Island employees.
-
To
encourage participants of the program to apply to work for the
City of Portage Aquatics sector when they are of age and if they
possess the proper qualifications.
-
To
monitor potential Splash Island and Southport employees and use
this information as an integral part of the hiring process in the
future.
Requirements
of the Participant
-
Proper,
one piece bathing suit (approved by Aquatic Program Supervisor)
-
Whistle
-
Sunscreen,
towel, hat, sunglasses (as needed)
-
One
pair of black shorts and one white T-shirt (needed for guard
shadowing).
