Portage la Prairie Tourism Billboard Brightens the Trans Canada Highway Near Carberry!

The City of Portage la Prairie is pleased to announce that one of the two Trans
Canada City Promotional Billboards has been placed on the south side of the Trans
Canada Highway around the junction of Highways # 1 and # 5 near Carberry,Manitoba. With its bright orange background and the “Always a Reason, Whatever the Season” tourism logo and slogan, as well as the logos from the six partnering businesses at the bottom of the billboard, it is extremely eye catching. It is intended to make the travelling public aware of the distance proximity to Portage la Prairie as well as identifying some business services within the community.

The Trans Canada Tourism Billboard project was a strategic plan initiative of the Tourism Advisory Committee, and approved by City Council, and is intended to bring more traffic into the City by showcasing some of the businesses in the area. By putting up billboards on the west and east sides of Portage la Prairie on the Trans Canada Highway, travellers will be able to make plans to stop in Portage la Prairie well before they arrive.

The Trans Canada Tourism Billboards depict the Tourism Logo and illustrate in minutes the time frame it will take to arrive in Portage la Prairie from the sign location.

The six partnering businesses in Portage la Prairie, who completely covered the cost
for the project include: Arrowhead Gas Bar, Boston Pizza, Canadian Tire, Century 21 Andrich Realty, Portage Credit Union and Super 8 Motel.
Another Trans Canada Tourism Billboard is slated to be erected in the early fall east of the City of Portage la Prairie.
