Ferris ChainOn behalf of City Council and the Citizens of the City of Portage la Prairie I am pleased to welcome you to the City of Portage la Prairie Web Site. Located within the heart of the richest agricultural belt in the Province, the economy is driven by a vibrant and progressive agricultural community. In addition, we look to ongoing diversification of the economy. Working diligently with local groups contributing to a quality of life second to none, the City of Portage la Prairie cherishes progress and seizes opportunities that enable our growth. Our City has a wide range of activities and interests, such as lodges, service clubs, youth groups, sports groups, senior citizen clubs, music and art.

Come and explore our “Island in the City” and Stride Place, our recreation multiplex. This beautiful facility comes complete with two arenas, an aquatic centre with a wave pool and water slide, a fitness centre and concessions.  Visit the Portage Arts  Centre and Gift Shop, or spend a leisurely day shopping down Saskatchewan Avenue or in at our mall.
