CAMA Holds Quarterly Board Meeting in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba

Portage la Prairie, MB (September 12, 2017) – The Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) will be holding their quarterly meeting in Portage la Prairie on September 14, 2017.

CAMA is a national, non-profit association open to all Chief Administrative Officers/City Managers and any person employed in a senior management position that reports directly to the CAO. CAMA has a membership of approximately 580 City Managers, Chief Administrative Officers and Senior Appointed Officials from all parts of Canada with the mission to “champion excellence in municipal administration and develop resilient leadership through professional development, networking and advocacy”.

The Board of Directors is comprised of 12 members representing various regions across Canada. Meetings are held in Ottawa, ON in the fall and at the Annual Conference location in June each year. The remaining two meetings rotate through the regions, with Portage la Prairie being selected for the September 14th meeting.

“I feel very fortunate to host my fellow CAMA board members in Portage la Prairie this week and look forward to showcasing our city and all it has to offer” said Jean-Marc Nadeau, City Manager for the City of Portage la Prairie and CAMA Director.

Mr. Nadeau joined CAMA in 2013 and was elected to the board of directors as the CAMA representative for Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Nunavut during the association’s annual general meeting, held in June 2015 at CAMA’s national conference in Winnipeg, MB.

The association, which represents over 500 senior municipal administrators from across the country, promotes administrative excellence in the field of municipal management.
