Community Consultations scheduled for creation of 15-year Plan

February 29, 2016

Portage la Prairie, MB – The City of Portage la Prairie is creating a 15-Year Community Sustainable Development Plan for our community and we want YOUR IDEAS for a sustainable future!  Youth, student and community consultation sessions are planned for March 3rd, 4th and 5th and we want to talk to you about your concerns, needs and priorities for the future of Portage la Prairie.

  • March 3, 2016 between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm, a come and go consultation is scheduled at Portage Collegiate Institute. Look for our table in front of the school store, Locker to Locker.
  • March 4 & 5, 2016 a come & go community consultation session is scheduled as part of the Home & Business Expo at the PCU Centre.

Citizens are invited to visit our booth, fill out a survey, and share your thoughts, needs and priorities for the future of Portage la Prairie with City representatives.

The 15 Year Community Sustainable Development Plan will be a living document that will guide corporate decision-making, enable evaluation of progress and steer the City towards greater levels of sustainability. The Plan is being developed in collaboration with citizens, businesses, community groups, City Councillors, and other organizations and external agencies. The engagement of stakeholders is critical to the development of a well-considered plan that the community will be proud to implement for years to come.

We are excited about this project and hope you will be able to join us.

People who are unable to attend either of these come and go public consultations can complete our on-line survey HERE.
