Finance Clerk

The City of Portage la Prairie is accepting resumes for the position of Finance Clerk. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Finance the incumbent would assist the public, process payments, maintains both parking ticket, licenses, and permits systems, as well as perform clerical duties in the general office. The remaining time will be spent training in the following positions in the Finance Department: Accounts Payable Clerk, Utility Clerk and Tax Clerk. The Finance Clerk will fill in for the above positions when absent or vacant.

Qualifications include Grade 12 and completion of Introductory Accounting Course or equivalent. Over 6 months, up to and including one year of office experience is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with 1 hour for lunch.

The wage for this position is $20.76 per hour. This is a unionized position and is subject to all terms and conditions of the collective agreement or subsequent amending agreements.

Acting pay will be applied as per the collective agreement when filling in for the above positions.
