The Province of Manitoba developed a cost-sharing program with municipalities to subsidize the purchase and installation of in-line backwater valves and sump pumps/pits. For 2015, City Council has allocated $10,500 to this initiative. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. Under this Program, the City and Province will each provide 30% of the cost of valve installation, up to $500 each, with the property owner paying the balance. The program would also pay 60% of the cost of installing a sump pump and pit drainage system to a maximum of $2,000 per household, with the Province and the City each paying 30%.
Application forms are available at City Hall, or click here to download the 2-page application.
