The next census will take place in May of 2021, and Statistics Canada has reached out to municipalities for support to increase awareness.

Statistics Canada notes that Canadians have relied on census data for over a century for indications of how the country is changing. Census data provides information needed to plan, develop and evaluate required programs and services such as schools, day cares, family services, housing, emergency services, roads, public transportation and skills training for employment.

City Council supports the 2021 Census and encourages all residents to do their part and complete their questionnaire online at www.census.gc.ca starting May 3, 2021, as this census data supports programs and services that benefit our community.

Statistics Canada is currently hiring approximately 32,000 people for census enumerator and crew leader positions across Canada – Census jobs.
