Changes to Manitoba Education Property Tax Credit (EPTC) Effective January 1, 2019
A legislative amendment was passed in 2018 that changes how the education property tax credit (EPTC) will be applied to resident homeowners’ property taxes.
Effective January 1, 2019, the EPTC will be applied to school taxes only. It will no longer apply to municipal property taxes. The $250 deductible before the EPTC applies will be eliminated. This means if you paid only $250 for your taxes in the past, you will now be paying more.
