Due to equipment malfunction, mosquito fogging did not take place last night as scheduled. We are working on a solution and will update you when the problem has been rectified and fogging is rescheduled.


Update June 20, 2022

Due to forecasted weather conditions, Mosquito Fogging with Delta Gard 20EW(active ingredient Deltamethrin) has been rescheduled as follows, weather permitting:

Public Notice is hereby given that the City of Portage la Prairie intends to conduct Mosquito Fogging with Delta Gard 20EW(active ingredient Deltamethrin), weather permitting, as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 22, 2022 – all areas south of the railway tracks not including Koko Platz, Mellenville and Old Bridge Road
  • Thursday, June 23, 2022 – all areas north of the tracks as well as Koko Platz, Mellenville and Old Bridge Road

Fogging will begin at approximately 9:30 pm and be completed prior to 6:00 am.  If the weather conditions are poor, the fogging will take place the following evening, pushing the schedule back one day.

Due to the continuing threat of West Nile all public are encouraged to allow fogging on their property.  All persons requesting “no fog” are asked to please register by phoning 204-239-8346 before 4:00 pm, June 22, 2022 and leave a message with your name and address. All properties must be re-registered for no fogging for 2022.  A 90 metre buffer zone will be left surrounding no fog property.  For any “no fog” questions please contact Jocelyn Lequier-Jobin, Director of Operations, at 204-239-8387.
