Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, the incumbent assists with the ongoing public works programs of the Division. Performs duties related to the maintenance and construction of the City infrastructure. Supervises seasonal staff as required.
REQUIRED TO OPERATE EQUIPMENT SUCH AS:
Grader, loader, backhoe, 4 ton truck with air brakes, bucket truck, street sweeper, sander unit, lake spray unit, sewer jet with air brakes, septic truck, chipper, welder, stumper, fork lift, jack hammer, line painting machine, asphalt roller, chain saw, tree trimmer, low and high pressure steamers, oil wagon, power tools and hand tools.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Position requires a high school grade eleven or GED equivalent, plus
- Experience over two years up to and including three years in heavy equipment operation as required for this position.
- Requires a valid driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
- Requires a valid Manitoba Arborist License and either a Special Boiler Operator Certificate or a Class 4 Power-Engineering Certificate.
SALARY RANGE: $28.46 per hour. This is a unionized position and is subject to all terms and conditions of the collective agreement or subsequent amending agreements.
