Interac e-Transfer Instructions

The City of Portage la Prairie accepts Interac e-Transfers as a secure and convenient payment method.

1. Through your online banking, add payments@city-plap.com as a new e-Transfer recipient.
2. Enter the payment amount.
3. In the message field, clearly indicate:

• • What the payment is for (e.g. Water Account, Property Taxes, Pet Licence, Cemetery Plot, Parking Ticket, Invoice, Permit, etc.) 
  • Your first and last name
  • Your phone number and email address

 4. Include the following additional details based on your payment type:

• • Water Account Payments - include your water account number
  • Property Tax Payments - include your roll number
  • Parking Ticket Payments - include the ticket number located top right of ticket, ie:142690 or 
    AC2020000014 
  • Invoices / Accounts Receivable Payments – include Customer ID, example SMITH001 and Invoice number if any. 
  • Cemetery Plots, Grave openings or Deed Payments – include the Estate name
  • Curb Cut / Driveway Permit Payments – include the property address.
  • Building Service Connection Permit Payments – include address of service connection location.

 5. Send Payment

* No security question required as funds are auto-deposited directly into the City bank account
