Payment Options

The City of Portage la Prairie offers the following e-services and online options to ensure uninterrupted access to services:

TAXES

• For inquiries call 204-239-8308 or email taxclerk@city-plap.com.
• Make payments through your online banking system (be sure to choose CITY not RM).  Allow 3-5 days for processing.
• Sign up for TIPP to have regular monthly payments withdrawn from your bank account (TIPP Form). 
• Payments can be put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or sent in the mail
• Pay via Interac e-transfer using the email payments@city-plap.com. Enter your roll number into the message field (Interac e-Transfer Instructions)
• Pay on-line with your credit card by using Pay Simply: www.paysimply.ca. Please note, there is a 2.5% fee paid by the customer for this service, so a $3,000 tax bill payment will have a $75 fee for the customer to pay this bill with their credit card. Payments can take 3 – 5 days to process.

WATER

• For inquiries call 204-239-8370 or email utilityclerk@city-plap.com.
• Go to E-Services for the following services:
  – Sign up for e-billing
  – Request water turn on or off
  – Set up regular monthly payments to be withdrawn from your bank account
  – Set up quarterly pre-authorized payments to be withdrawn from your bank account
• Make payments though your bank’s on-line banking system (be sure to choose CITY not RM)
• Pay on-line via credit card using Pay Simply: www.paysimply.ca. Please note there is a 2.5% fee paid by the customer for this service and payments can take 3 – 5 days to process.
• Payments can be put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or sent in the mail.
• Pay via Interac e-transfer using the email payments@city-plap.com. Enter your account number into the message field (Interac e-Transfer Instructions).

PARKING PASSES

• Parking passes can be purchased by calling 204-239-8310 or emailing cashier@city-plap.com.
• Information to include: license plate number, name, address, postal code, email address, whether you’re purchasing a daily / monthly / annual pass, start date, end date and quantity.
• Payments can be put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or sent in the mail.
• E-transfer to payments@city-plap.com, include your license plate number in the message field.
• You may purchase parking passes on-line at https://htsp.ca.

PARKING TICKETS

• For inquiries call 204-239-8310 or email cashier@city-plap.com
• Pay on-line via credit card by using Pay Simply: www.paysimply.ca. Please note there is a 2.5% fee paid by the customer for this service and payments can take 3 – 5 days to process.
• Payment can be put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or sent in the mail.
• Pay via Interac e-transfer using the email payments@city-plap.com. Enter the violation or ticket number located top right of ticket (ie: Ticket 142690 or Violation AC2020000014 into the message field (Interac e-Transfer Instructions)
• To dispute a parking violation please complete form here.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLES

• Trailer license fees can be paid though preauthorized payment.
• Payment can be put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or sent in the mail.
• Pay via Interac e-transfer using the email payments@city-plap.com. For Invoices/AR statements enter your Customer ID, example SMITH001 and Invoice number if any into the message field (Interac e-Transfer Instructions)
• Pay on-line via credit card using Pay Simply: paysimply.ca.  Note there is a 2.5% fee paid by the customer for this service and payments can take 3 – 5 days to process.

BUSINESS LICENSE

PET LICENSES

• Fill out the Pet License Application online here.
• If you encounter problems uploading your proof of rabies vaccination, please call 204-239-8309 extension 0.
• Payments can be put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or sent in the mail.
• E-transfer to payments@city-plap.com. In the message field, include your name, address and indicate that the payment is for a pet license.

LOCAL VEHICLE FOR HIRE

• Vehicle Tag Applications or Driver’s Permit Applications can be found online here Local Vehicle for Hire. 
• Print off and fill out the application form. The completed form can put in the drop box at the front of City Hall or emailed to cashier@city-plap.com.
