Afternoon Snow Clearing Update - December 18, 2025

City equipment and staff are currently working on opening designated priority roadways throughout the City. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic is still extremely dangerous in some sections of the city. We urge citizens to only travel if necessary.

Beginning at 7 pm this evening (December 18th), City staff will begin a 96-hour straight “Storm Related Snow Clearing”. Throughout the night, staff will focus all efforts on completing all the designated priority routes as well as Garbage and Recycling Collection Zone 1 in preparation for tomorrow's scheduled pick ups.

Residents in Zone 1 are asked to move parked vehicles from residential streets to allow for efficient clearing. Please contact the City of Portage la Prairie Operations Department @ 204-239-8346 for snow related questions or concerns.
