Dutch Elm Disease & Emerald Ash Borer Monitoring Underway

Dutch elm disease (DED) surveys and emerald ash borer (EAB) monitoring have officially begun for the season in participating communities.

Provincial inspectors will be on foot or in vehicles, inspecting both public and private properties for DED-infected trees and elm firewood with bark. Elm firewood spreads DED and is illegal to store.

📍 Portage la Prairie: Surveys are expected to begin the week of May 20 and will continue until complete.
