We're Hiring - Parks and Cemetery Maintenance

The City of Portage la Prairie is accepting resumes for the position of Parks and Cemetery Maintenance. Under the general supervision of the Parks and Cemetery Foreman, the incumbent performs a variety of manual labour tasks related to the maintenance and construction of parks, urban forests, green spaces, cemeteries, playgrounds, outdoor skating rinks, landscaped areas, ponds, deer pen and City facilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Position requires a high school grade ten
• Experience over 6 months, up to and including one year
• A valid Manitoba Arborist and Pesticide Applicator License
• A valid driver’s license
• A valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card

HOURS OF WORK: The normal workday shall commence at 8:00am to 4:30 pm, or for Parks Division it may commence at 7:00am and finish at 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, 1/2 hour for lunch.

SALARY: $26.81 per hour. This is a unionized position and is subject to all terms and conditions of the collective agreement or subsequent amending agreements.
