Temp Waterworks Maintenance (until the end of September)

The City of Portage la Prairie is accepting resumes for the Temp Waterworks Maintenance position. Under the general supervision of the Waterworks Foreman, performs manual labouring tasks in the maintenance and construction of water & wastewater conveyance systems.

REQUIRED TO OPERATE EQUIPMENT SUCH AS:
Sewer jet (air brake endorsement), roto rooter, dump truck, energizer, quickie saw, jack hammer, manual tools, forklift, pumps, steamer, front end loader, two-way radio, meter reading equipment, light duty vehicle.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

• Completion of Grade 12.
• Province of MB Class II Certificate in Water Distribution and in Wastewater Collection.
• Special Boiler Certificate.
• A valid driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement.

HOURS OF WORK: 8:00am to 4:30 pm, 1/2 hour for lunch.

SALARY:  $31.41 per hour as per CUPE collective agreement. This is a unionized position and is subject to all terms and conditions of the collective agreement or subsequent amending agreements.
