We're Hiring - Water Pollution Control Facility Lab Technician (Co-op Student Placement)
START DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: OCTOBER 2026 – MARCH 2027
DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Lab Technician, responsible for conducting laboratory analysis on wastewater samples. Assists in the preparation of reports as required.
REQUIRED TO OPERATE EQUIPMENT SUCH AS:
Computer (Microsoft Office), pH meters, D.O. meters, balances, spectrophotometer, vacuum pump, wastewater sampler, drying ovens, dishwasher, extraction apparatus, digestion apparatus, microscope, water purification, titrator, distillation unit, Nutrient Analyzer
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 and completion of a minimum of one term in a laboratory technology or wastewater treatment operator-related program.
This is a co-op program position. Only students currently in a co-op program, specializing in a relevant Environmental Studies, Engineering or Laboratory Sciences program are eligible to apply. Start and end dates may be adjusted as necessary with consideration for the resumption of classes in the Fall.
HOURS OF WORK: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, 1 hour for lunch, Monday to Friday
SALARY: $24.52 per hour
SCOPE: The position falls within the Collective Bargaining Unit of Local 1002 and is subject to all terms and conditions of the collective agreement or subsequent amending agreements.
