Spring is coming and the City of Portage is once again offering free curbside yard waste collection.  This year’s program will start Monday, April 28, 2025, and run for 4 collection cycles. 

The 45th Annual Bike Auction takes place on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to subsection 162(2) of The Municipal Act that the Council of the City of Portage la Prairie intends to hold a public hearing at City Hall, 97 Saskatchewan Avenue East on the 28th day of April 2025 at 6:00 pm to present its 2025 Financial Plan.

On August 1st, the City will be implementing a new cart system for residential solid waste pickup. More details will be shared in the coming months, but here is a short video showing how MWM Environmental’s system will work

The City’s bulk water dispenser at the Water Pollution Control Facility will be unavailable for the next few days.

The Business Storefront Improvement Grant intends to help business owners in Portage la Prairie improve the face of their businesses by providing funds for exterior building upgrades.
