This year’s fireworks display will be off the southwest bank of the causeway and will primarily be fired west, with some shells being fired to the east. The causeway will be under normal operation for both vehicle and foot traffic until 9:00 pm on July 1st when it will be closed for the fireworks. Fireworks will begin at dusk (approximately 10:30 pm).
Due to a technical error, preauthorized payments for Area 3 utility accounts that were scheduled for withdrawal on Friday, June 20, 2025, did not go through as expected.
The City has recently been made aware that we are no longer permitted to pump water directly from the Assiniboine River into Crescent Lake, which we do to maintain an adequate water level, due to new Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) regulations.
As a result, we’ve had to pause pumping operations while we work with the Province of Manitoba to explore alternative solutions that meet regulatory requirements.
Water main flushing occurs each year from late June to mid-August to clear mains of iron and calcium scale deposits to maintain high-quality water. This program will run for 8 weeks and will take place between the nighttime hours of 10:00 pm – 6:00 am.
